[When standing in front of your windows and you feel cold air
leaking through the windows, excessive heat in the summer or
excessive noise.]
[Hi-Rise Windows believes the federal home owner deduction ended
in 2007 but there may be other tax savings at the State level.
Please check with your tax professional. ]
[Low-E is short for low emissivity. It is a coating that is
microscopically thin, virtually invisible,
metal or metallic layer deposited on a window or skylight glazing surface primarily to reduce the
U-factor by suppressing radiant
heat
flow. The result usually yields energy
savings. For more information, please visit the
NFRC.]
[Argon gas is an inert, nontoxic gas used in insulating glass
units to reduce heat transfer. Although the energy savings is
not as significant as Low-E, there is some advantage over a standard
air filled cavity.]
[STC is an acronym for Sound Transmission Class. It is an
integer-number rating (in decibels) of how well a building partition
attenuates airborne sound. In the USA, it is widely used to rate interior partitions,
ceilings/floors, doors, windows and exterior wall configurations
(see ASTM International Classification E413 and E90). ]
[Vinyl windows are factory tested for residential homes, not
commercial high rise buildings. Aluminum windows AAMA tested
are typically used in heavy commercial high rise applications.]
